We are the farmers’ collective Lawine and we run the farm in Neuendorf im Sande, right next to Fürstenwalde Spree.  Our collective currently consists of 7 people. Together we bring a wide range of experience and training from the areas of organic vegetable growing, animal husbandry, cheese making, agroforestry and crafts.  We are in the process of setting up organic farming here locally, from which we can live well and fairly.

Since 2020, we have been cultivating 16 hectares of arable and pasture land around the estate in the form of solidarity farming. We currently grow vegetables all year round on around 1-2 hectares for around 250 people in the region. We look after our growing herd of dairy goats and the long-term development of natural pastures for them and produce goat cheese from our own milk in our new cheese dairy. In addition, we create nature conservation areas in the form of tree and hedge areas throughout the estate and on our fields.

We work as a collective to establish a low-hierarchy structure for our business. We make decisions together and the responsibilities of the business are distributed among everyone, with a focus on the various work areas. Every day, we practice recognizing hierarchical and patriarchal structures in our daily work, want to treat each other with respect and learn from each other.

We don’t see ourselves as lone fighters, but rather as part of a global small-scale farming movement that promotes regional, self-determined and independent food production and supply from the bottom up. That’s why we feel very connected to the following organizations and networks and many others, or are sometimes members of them. Feel free to take a look at their work!
